eBook Platform BiblioRossica – Subscription Changes

MIPP International introduces some changes on subscription to ebook platform BiblioRossica from Academic Studies Press.

 

At the moment subscription options include access to the whole BiblioRossica collection made up of over 9000 titles, to special collections and to publishers' collections. The platform covers both classic works and the latest studies, in both Russian and English, and members can expect regular additions of new titles to the collections.

 

The website's features include:

• A search engine which allows the user to find a related group of titles as well as a single phrase in a single book, with an advanced search for titles, authors, publishers, keywords, or thematic categories, as well as full-text search;

 

• An online viewer that allows readers to enlarge fonts and page size without sacrificing quality of typeface. An ebook-PDF format that allowing users to bookmark, review, and take notes on the content;

 

• Technical solutions which help to integrate electronic platform in library catalogs and educational programs;

 

• Capacity for a user to view, copy, download (up to 15%), and print from the ebooks in use. The structures of the ebooks are identical to those of the printed versions, for convenience in bibliographic referencing.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Subscription to eLIBRARY Journals 2014 Continues

MIPP eSubscription catalog 2014 is available at http://www.mippbooks.com/doc/eSUB2014.xls. 1080 Russian academic journals are available in electronic format through the platform eLIBRARY.RU. Institutions may subscribe to any number of titles and add new ones anytime within a subscription period.

 

Institution's authentication is IP-based. Number of simultaneous users within IP range is unlimited. Remote access through EZ-proxy is allowed. Full usage statistic report is provided and updated once a month.

 

Subscription is also open for individuals, who may select any number of titles from the catalog. The access for individual subscribers is login/password authenticated.

 

About 1800 titles are available in open access for all registered users. The registration is free.

CHANGES AND DEVELOPMENTS

 

MYBRARY in ProQuest Program «Summon Unified Discovery Service»

LLC ProQuest and MYBRARY in Russia have concluded an agreement allowing MYBRARY to participate in the multilevel internet search service Summon which is the program of Serial Solutions (business department of ProQuest company).

 

MYBRARY is an online library of business books on law, economics and business, for corporate and individual users. Currently the library contains around 2,000 titles from more than 20 Russian publishers, including academic and educational literature and popular business ebooks.

 

Summon is a search engine for librarians, accumulating information about accessibility and availability of electronic resources in various digital libraries , including libraries of Cambridge University, the London School of Economics & Political Science, The University of Michigan, Dartmouth, Arizona State University, the CIA, the DIA, Karolinska Institutet, Peking University, The University of Queensland, the University of Konstanz, the University of Toronto , Kyushu University, and Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio de Janeiro. Summon service is being used by more than 600 organizations in 45 countries.
