IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Academic Journals in Open Access at eLIBRARY Platform

The subject of open access to scientific information and even of “open science” (in all possible aspects) has become very popular among researchers as well as state and corporate structures. It’s more or less obvious for everyone, that to enhance science development more specialists should get access to cutting-edge researches. The wider this circle is, the better it’s for science. However, researches are sponsored by state and private funds, for-profit companies which are not always interested in free distribution of their developments. Infrastructure implementation and maintenance also require facilities. Although, there is still no obvious solution, the search efforts give hope, that soon there will be one or several institutional models enabling science to become truly open without losing profitability.

“Scientific Electronic Library” company, known as the platform eLIBRARY, is expending significant efforts so that Russian science would become more available for Russian and world academic community. That’s why the company has implemented different projects such as integration of data from Scopus into Russian Citation Index (to analyze bibliometric figures) or cooperation with Web of Science on development of “Russian sources” database at Web of Science platform. It’s a highly important work. Yet, apart from bibliographic information researchers need full-texts.

“Scientific Electronic Library” offers a great number of open journals in the special section "Academic journals in open access". Following this link you will find the list of journals which are either in full open access (more than 1200), or have a free open archive. In order to conduct a search only through open access journals please use the link http://elibrary.ru/querybox.asp. Full texts available for free downloading are marked with green icon.
