This scientific work is devoted to amino acids of protein origin - natural proteinogenic amino acids, vital metals and their metal complex derivatives. The monograph examines the biological role of amino acids and life metals in living organisms and plants, the synthesis and biological significance of metal complexes of natural amino acids. The monograph consists of an introduction, four parts and a conclusion. The introduction substantiates the relevance in the field of research of metal-containing amino acid complexes in the life of living organisms, gives ideas about modern scientific directions, such as bioinorganic, bioorganic and biomolecular chemistry. The first part of the monograph is devoted to the biological role of 22 natural proteinogenic amino acids in living organisms and plant cells, describes their physicochemical properties, production, biosynthesis and metabolism, useful properties and physiological role for the body, and practical application. The second part of the monograph describes the behavior of the metals of life (s- and d-metals) in humans and animals, as well as the role of ultramicroelements that perform the necessary functions in the organisms of living beings. The third part of the monograph is devoted to metal complex compounds of natural amino acids of protein origin, which describes the interaction of transition metals with amino acids containing functional groups as the main coordination centers of amino acids, presents methods for the synthesis of metal complex compounds based on amino acids, preparation and salt synthesis of amino acid complexes of transition metals with α- and β-amino acids, the dependence of the properties of amino acid metal complexes on the structure of amino acids is described.
