Nikolay Muravyov-Amursky (1809 – 1881) was a Russian general, statesman and diplomat, who played a major role in the expansion of the Russian Empire into the Amur River basin and to the shores of the Sea of Japan. The author of the book is Alexander Vedrov, a member of the Russian Union of Writers, laureate of the national literary award “Writer of the Year” (2015).
